Should You Document What Happened to You?

Interviewer: Probably one of the best things to do is to have the client document everything that happened to them. This includes before the arrest, during the stop, during the arrest and after the arrest so you can do your job better.

Dale: Documentation is absolutely helpful. Unfortunately, I have yet to meet the client that properly documents. My initial interview with a client is when I am trying to piece the events together. I always instruct clients to inform me of any details they remember at a later time. Regardless of the client’s eventual plea, having all the details assists me in presenting the best possible defense.
