Interviewer: I’m sure some people just want plead guilty and put this behind them. So what are some of the penalties for either first or second time DUIs that people should consider before they decide on a plea?
Dale: Well first of all, you know, the court can incarcerate you for 180 days, even on the first offense. Not that they would, but the possibility is there. But you may get six or ten days. Additionally, if you have what they call a high end OVI, which is a test result of over .169, you will spend six days in jail at minimum and you will also receive a restricted license plate. In Ohio it is a yellow license plate that is unique to OVI offenders.
